Impressions of Gozo - Eindrücke von Gozo

I believe the pictures will speak for themselves, so I'm not going to bother you with a lot of text today. See:

Ich glaube, die Bilder sprechen für sich, deswegen werde ich euch heute den Text ersparen.

For your information, to go to Gozo you have to take the bus to Mellieha, the farthest town in the Northwestern part of Malta. Then there are ferries that will take you to Gozo. Usually you pay for your ticket on the way back, but make sure to get one beforehand as there may be long lines.

Zu eurer Info, wenn ihr nach Gozo wollt, must ihr zuerst nach Mellieha fahren. Mellieha ist die Stadt, die am nordwestlichsten Punkt der Insel liegt. Dann steigt ihr um in die Fähre. Normalerweise bezahlt man das Ticket bei der Rückfahrt, aber ich würde euch empfehlen, es schon vorher zu besorgen, weil sich oft lange Schlangen bilden und es dann etwas stressfreier ist, sein Ticket schon zu haben.

In Gozo, we visited a village that is famous for lace-making.  On the pictures you can see the old ‘washing places’ where the women took their wool, clothes, and lace to wash them.

In Gozo besuchten wir zuerst ein kleines Dorf, was für Spitzenklöppelei berühmt ist. Auf den Bildern seht ihr die alten Waschräume, die die Frauen früher nutzten um Sachen zu waschen.

That’s the area of the Fungus Rock. I didn’t manage to take a decent photo of it because of the strong winds. The rocks beneath are corals.

Hier wäre der Fungus Rock zu sehen. Habe zwar versucht, ein Bild zu machen, aber man sieht den Felsen nicht besonders gut deswegen habe ich es weggelassen. Die Felsen unterhalb sind versteinerte Korallen.

Here's the legendary Azurre Window, or Blue Window. Yesterday it looked even more marvelous because of the rough sea.

Hier seht ihr das legendäre Blaue Fenster. Durch die Wetterbedingungen sieht es nochmal viel wundersamer aus. 

Victoria, the capital of Gozo, was called Rabat in the past. That’s the view from a watch tower.

Victoria, die Hauptstadt von Gozo, hier früher Rabat und wird noch heute oft so genannt. Hier sieht man die Stadt.

From this viewing platform we were able to see as far as Malta and Comino, the other small island that belongs to Malta, and of course the Blue Lagoon.

Von dieser Aussichtspunkt kann man auf Malta und Comino schauen. Und man sieht natürlich auch die Blaue Lagune.
